Latest Greatest Garden Updates

No matter what good plans I set to write more often. Something always gets in the say. Do I start all my posts with similar apologies?

I am really happy with my gardens. For just having been started this spring, they are filling in quite well. All of the following are in front of our house. Remember, when I started in April, there was nothing here but grass...

So that's it. I gave up trying to get one photo of the whole bed so you get it in pieces. I enjoy strolling through my "vast acreage" several times a day to see what's new. I'm never disappointed. Weeding is also easy when you weed as you go as it grows.

Hope you enjoyed this little tour. Next time, I'll show you the back veggie gardens.

Agree w/ John above. It does look great! Isn't it interesting how we have certain areas of the garden that are just a smidgen more special ... :)

Looking forward to see the veggie patches. And any of the veggies collected for eating too ... :)

Hi John. Thanks for stopping by. I spend a little (sometimes a lot) of time each day working in the garden. Right now, I'm digging a new bed in the back of the house where I will put all my unruly children: peppermint, yarrow, spearmint, chameleon plant and monarda (beebalm) when it goes crazy. Then I'll just let them go...

Hi Olivia! So very good to see you. It's true, some spots are just special for some reason. Hubby loves the south end of the north bed (I need some more romantic names). I like that little corner with the monarda. I also like how certain plant combinations work together. They are like friends at a party gathering in little bunches to chat.
Already I'm thinking about how they'll look next year when they start filling in.

Veggies are next. I've already taken the photos so it shouldn't be so long till I post them. Famous last words....

LOL, yes ... looking forward to seeing them. :)

Wow, CF, that's GORGEOUS! How intricate! I hope someday mine looks a fraction as nice - wanna come to Florida and help? :-) What a wonderful way to spend time, and what a beautiful result - thanks for sharing!

Beth, I don't know much about the plant material for Florida. It's totally different from up here I know. Just start talking to people and take pictures of garden that you see and like. I'm sure there are books on Florida Gardening. And remember, Mr. Google knows everything. :-)

Beth, I think your beds look great. Love the stone pathway. You will be glad you put that there when things grow up. I just put a path thru my new bed. Going back to put stones in after things are grown in harder--I know;)

Love the little dog too. He almost looks real.

Hi Marnie. Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like my endeavors. I know it'll look better when it gets fuller and yes, you're right the stones will help later. Even know some of the shastas are overhanging the stones.

The little dog is a cairn terrer. We used to have two of them and we miss them still. At least with "Craggy" we don't have to feed, water, walk or pick up after him. LOL

What a great tour! Beautiful garden beds, they look professional. Your garden accents are great, too. Especially the doggie.

Hi IGW. Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you liked my little garden. I don't know about professional, but I sure enjoyed doing it. And of course it's never done.

We meet at last, dear Coneflower :)

Thank you for your comments on my blog :)

Your garden is fairly taking shape...very pretty indeed. I hope each plant will get its chance to grow to maturity without Chomper's teeth gobbling them up :)

Hello Wildlife Gardener. Thank you for coming by my blog. I'm glad you like my little garden. I so love your spacious and varied ones. They are so rich with life. In they next 2-3 years, my garden will fill in and mature also.

You've done so much! It all looks terrific :)

CONEFLOWER said...

Hi Ilona! Thanks so much. It's been a lot of work but as you know, it's all fun. Now I walk around them and pull the few weeds that have grown since the day before and say hello to each plant. It's all good.

Hiya CF,

OK I finally got something posted at my place so I can now say - TOE TAPPING. :)

Your garden looks really beautiful and you did a wonderful job with the pictures.

Take care

FM (the toe tapper). :O)

Yikes, the toe tappers are getting serious now! I'd better get busy. :-)

Thanks FM for those kind words.

HI Beth: You have been awful quite over here. What's up, what are you working on. Has not been a good year in our garden this year. Too much rain and not enough sun. Although some plants did real well.

Have a Great evening,
John

Oooh... I like both of them, but the Northern Bed is totally stealing my heart right now. (I'm a foliage girl. I admit it.)

Great job--they're both lovely already, and are going to be absolutely amazing when they really fill out!

Hi Kim,
Thanks for stopping by. The North Bed is my husband's favorite. He's not a plant person but there's something about it that calls him too. I'm already anxious to see it next year. I'm a little nervous about the third year when perennials "leap" but I'm always prepared to move things and thin out beds. What's the fun otherwise? :-)

I popped back over to see if had posted and if you are well...would you like to come and visit my butterflies?
