Very Special First Day of Spring...

One the first day of Spring, 2010, our family grew by one person and 4 legs. A new little cairn terrier came to live with us! She is a little girl, five years old and a retired show dog (American Champion) and retired mommy.

Here's a couple photos taken when she was being shown by her breeder and first daddy, Joe Vernuccio.

As you can see, she is much darker now. This is not unusual.

She is the dearest, sweetest, gentlest little cairn I have even known. She was immediately at home in our home and she made it her own.

Her favorite toy is anything that squeeks...especially Mr. Green Dog.

Mr. Green Dog has FIVE squeekers in it and it's great for playing tug-of-war with Daddy.

Finally, we have a fur friend who is partial to me. She follows me everywhere. I'm so happy to finally have found "my" doggy pal. Here we are going for a walk.

(That's me with the very short blonde hair.)

She takes us for 2-3 walks everyday which is great for all of us.

Welcome home, little Chrissie. We love you already.

Hi Beth. Thanks. She is a doll. Very quiet although she will let us know when someone comes to the door. She also is very smart. She is still 1.5 hours short of being with us for one week and she's learning our routine and timing very well.

Hi Melissa. We're thrilled that Chrissie came to live with us. She never showed any signs of being uprooted. She immediately acted like she's always been here. How cool is that?

Congrats to you both - she is adorable!

Hi Linda,
Thanks for stopping by. We are really happy with little Chrissie. She has taken us for three walks today. This is very unusual and very good ... for us. :-)

Yay! New dogs are great! Especially when they encourage you to get out and go walking and do stuff. That's how our doberman is. Congrats to your newest addition!

Hiya CF,

I'm very happy you've found Chrissie and that she has found you too. I'm looking forward to a lot more pictures of her.

I'm sure with Spring here your garden will be growing and you guessed it - more pictures. :)

I hope you and the family are doing fine and take care.

Hi FM. It's always nice to hear you. Flower gardens are looking good and the things I planted last October are good also. But WOW had it ever gotten how. 87 degrees today. Way too hot for NE Ohio in early April. How's things down your way?

When will you have your surgery?

We're all fine here. Chrissie keeps us jumping though. She's a real sweetheart.
