I Am Happy and Proud

Today I watched President-Elect Barack Obama with his family, pick up Vice-President Elect Biden and his family and process to Washington, D.C. to become the 44th President of the United States in two days.

I am so very happy to be an American, I am so proud of America and of Barack Obama and I am PROUD of my new President. I am filled with hope.

Here are a few photos I took from my television of the arrival in Washington, D.C.

Enjoy!

That famous Obama smile.

The Fab Four on the 1933(?) historical train car, ready to leave Wilmington to go to Washington, D.C.

Obama gives a happy wave as the train proceeds through Maryland.

Another Obama/Biden smile and wave.

Obama has a short stop in Baltimore.

The historic train is in sight at Union Station.

This is MY President. I am happy and I am proud. I rejoice and am filled with hope.

Hi Olivia!
Thanks for coming by and thanks for the link.

This is such an exciting time. I took a bunch of photos of the inaugural too, but haven't put them up yet.

It's still like a dream, a VERY happy dream. But he's living up to his word. Yeaaaaa!

Hi Coneflower,
I caught a lot of the arrival too, and it was so great to see them arrive for the big event, but nothing was more thrilling than Tuesday the 20th! I cheated and watched it online from work, but so did a lot of others, I suspect!

Now that we're one week into it, I am pleased (mostly) so far with how he has proceeded. And gotta love how he skewered the $hrub in his speech, lol. He's a class act all the way around ... I just wish they'd hurry up and get their puppy! We got ours the 18th just in time to be a brand new Obama pup!

Hi IVG. We were glued to the TV all day on the 20th. Yes, he is indeed, a class act. We're very happy with his actions so far too. It's so wonderful to have such a person in charge of our country. Makes me proud.
