Here is the same blossom with three buds opened around it. This shows the true color of the rose.

And at last, may I present Cinco De Mayo, a truly lovely rose with a delicate but lovely scent.
Just a little fun blog where I can ask questions about and share my ideas on gardening, photography, life, living green, fitness (or lack thereof), doggies, and hopefully, get responses from my friends, family and followers.

Hi CF,
That's a lovely looking rose and your pictures are outstanding. Plus Craggy looks great.
Things around here are still green and hot. I keep hoping winter will get here soon. :)
Hope you're doing fine and take care.

Hi FM!
Winter already? LOL Well, this is the month of longest days. After mid-July the days start getting noticeably shorter. Winter won't be far behind.
You'd better duck if Olivia reads this. I have a feeling she's not ready for winter yet. :-)
So that is Cinco De Mayo, lovely color!
Hello IGW. Nice to see you again. It really is lovely. It actually lives up to its review in the Wayside catalog. It's a very good bloomer too and nice fragrance. I love how it opens an orangey red and then changes slowly to a nice pink before fading completely at the end.
Make that a reddish, rusty, brownish color at start. Very unusual.
