Autumn is my favorite time of year. It's the season David and I got married (October 2) and we've lasted 27 years so far. We'll last lots longer because by this time, it's too hard to train new partners. We do pretty darn well together.
I must say though, that Winter is also a favorite season. I love the snow. I love watching it, feeling it, walking through it, listening to the quiet it lends to the land, and even shoveling it (for a while).
But then Spring is really cool too. I love watching for new little sprouts to show themselves and then to watch them grow. Did everything live through the winter? Where can I stick something new?
And of course, Summer is great. This past summer was lovely, cooler and wetter than usual so it was all the best things summer can be. Everything grew beautifully as you already know if you've been following this blog for a bit.
And before all memories of summer are past, here's a fellow I discovered on my Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' (red leaved redbud tree).

Isn't he amazing? I didn't know what it was until I did some hunting online. It's a Katydid!! I had forgotten all about them. Guess they're pretty benign too. He was very brave and really didn't mind my getting close to take a photo.
Well, that's all for now until the next time. Hope you stop by, but if you stop by, please say hello so I'll know you were here. Thanks!

Well, Hello :)
I had a chuckle over your "married comments". The pic of the katydid is great.
Hi Ilona! I enjoyed your last post too. Passed some of the clay info on to a friend living with north central Ohio clay comprising the garden. I was wondering though, after the clay is dry, how do you get it into that powdery stage? With a sledge hammer and pick ax? LOL!
See you in blog-land.
Good Morning: Nature is wonderful producing vaccinating creatures for us to look at and admire. Great Photo.
Have a Wonderful Day,
John
Hi John,
Vaccinating?
Thanks for coming by. It's always good to see you

Ahhhhh! Fascinating. Yes, indeed, you are right!
We had the same cool, wet summer here. It was a wonderful change not to put up with the muggy heat and lack of water for the garden. Everyone's tomatoes were a casualty of the weather but other than that, pretty nice.
I almost said you are lucky to have a successful marriage. In truth we know it isn't luck but hard work, compassion and other skills that make a marriage work;)
Marnie
Hi Marnie,
I was sure I replied to your comment yesterday. Guess I forgot to hit the POST button. I hate when I do that.
My tomatoes did well, I think due to the raised beds. But they were slow to start ripening. The rest of my gardens were very happy.
And you are right on about makeing a marriage work. But it sure helps to have married your best friend. :-)
