It's been three days. Maybe I should give you all a hint. Perhaps I should have been giving a hint a day. But Marnie was the first to even try. Thanks Marnie. Here's a hint for each of the three days.
Saturday hint: This flower is blossoming all over Ohio this time of year.
Sunday hint: It's native to Ohio (and like places).
Monday hint: It's a really stunning plant.

Sorry, I can't tell from just the blooms.

Hi Marnie. Thanks for coming by and for trying my little quiz. I've added three hints (one for each of the three days since my original post.
Come on, ya'll. You're going to feel silly when I tell you what it is.
I am sufficiently chastised. If I don't leave a comment, know that I check in every time you add a new post! I love the tale of your garden - it's funny starting to read in the spring, because I know your garden is almost done already. Time flies! Now you can get ready for next year...keep adding pictures and stories!
Oh dear...I'm still clueless on this one.......
Walter and Beth: thank you two for leaving a comment.
Beth, thanks for reading the whole thing about the garden. It filled my whole summer. I've already started planning for this late winter when I'll be starting seedlings again.
Walter. Bless your heart. At least you learned about comments on my blog. :-) Wish I could blog-whisper the answer to you. But keep checking back and you'll find out what it is.
I'll try this again. It's goldenrod, isn't it?
YES!!! You are right. I've added a photo of the entire plant now. Yeaaaaa!
I've only seen goldenrod as a color of Whiteout before....back in the old days of typewriters. :-))
Fun quiz! Do it again, please!
And nice map!! :-)
Wow, I actually thought of goldenrod as a "throw away" answer, since the closeup didn't look like it to me. It just shows the wisdom in going with what your intuition throws at you. :)
Beth, LOL! I had forgotten. That's too funny!
Walt, yep, intuition is a good thing. You weren't clueless at all. :-)
Finally one, that I could have answered........lol I have lots of goldenrod in my yard and no it does not cause hay fever........I can not convince my Dad and Mom of that howerer.
Hi! Thanks for coming by.
You're right. Ragweed is often the culprit that sets off hayfever. Unfortunately, they often grow together in a field. There are some really gorgeous goldenrods but I will like the native here in Ohio.
