This is a late summer bouquet that I just put together a few days ago. There are 12 different perennial plants included in this collection. See how many you can name. Common names are sufficient. :-) (You can click on image to enlarge)

John and Lisa have correctly identified 5 of the 12 plants (see my comment in response to theirs). However....
APOLOGY: I SHOULD HAVE SAID "12 DIFFERENT PLANTS" INSTEAD OF "12 DIFFERENT PERENNIAL PLANTS". There are 10 perennial, 1 biennial, and 1 annual (I think).
John and Lisa you get a free second try.

Hello John and Lisa...
Excellent try!!! You named 9 plants but only 5 of them were correct. Still 5 of my 12 is an great attempt. Should I be nice and tell which ones were correct?
Yes, I should.
You correctly identified:
Echinacea (Purple Coneflower),
Shasta Daisy,
Fountain Grass (purple F. Grass),
Rudbeckia (Black eyed daisy),
Helianthus (sunflower)
The excitement mounts. Who will identify the rest? There are 7 more plants represented in the bouquet.
Thanks John and Lisa!!
You have a good eye for putting together a bouquet. I love the tall grasses, especially the purple fountain grass. I never thought to include that in a bouquet. I also like the trailing leaves, is that mint or maybe cat mint?
I can't identify all but it looks like coneflowers, daisies, maybe sea oats, one of the blue salvias, the yellow umbrels could be fennel or wild parsnips, the white could be queen ann's lace, helianthus and I can't see the spikey things well enough to guess;)
Marnie
Wow Marnie, you got three more. The trailing leaves are lemon balm (I'll allow mint), the yellow umbrels are fennel, and [northern] sea oats (chasmanthium latifolium)is the third you got. Great!!
So 5+3 is 8 of the 12 plants present in the bouquet.
Thanks for the kind words about the bouquet. I love putting together wild collections of cool plants.
Common folks, only 4 more to go.
Thanks to all participants so far.
Well...here goes...the ones I am familiar with are the white chrysanthemum, the coneflower(!), the yellow helianthemum/sunflower, and various grasses...how's that for cheating? :)
Well, if I count the "various grasses" (heh, heh) you got 4. Not bad. Now you can see all the answers in my newest post. There are 14 of them instead of 12.
Thanks for coming by and trying my little quiz.
