HINTS: Flower stem is about 1' tall. Deceased flower ball is about 1" across.
SOLUTION: This seed head is from Armeria pseudameria 'Joystick Red', a relative of Armeria maritima, Sea Thrift or Sea Pink. This one is a little larger and it's leaves are more strappy instead of grasslike. The color is rosey peach. Very pretty [LINK}.

John
Hi John. See you later. :-)
Beth: Liza is at piano lessons but I keep wanting to say allium. Don't know why and can't remember seeing one with that close a bloom structure.
Only two answers, Yes or no. So lets try.
John
Sorry, John. Not allium but that's a very reasonable try.
OK Beth: Back to the drawing board.
See you later,
John
Hi,
My first thought was allium, too, but no matter what it is it sure would add texture to an everlasting bouquet or wreath.
Hello T. Opdycke! Thanks for stopping by. Always glad to see new faces. You're right about the everlasting bouquet. Thanks for reminding me. I think I'll go out and pick them right now.
Greetings from Northern VT! I'm more of a BIRD girl than a plant girl...but I like guessing games. This is a really poor attempt but just to throw something out there- how about a globe thistle?
Hope you're getting some sun out in OH! I think we're headed full-throttle into stick season.
Hi Melissa. Thanks for stopping by. I like new faces (as well as the good old friends). I just took a quick look at your blog. I love it. I will definitely be a follower.
Sorry, the photo is not of globe thistle although that also is a reasonable guess.
I'll be putting up some hints today.
How about Onion Blossom gone to seed.
John
Sorry John, no onion blossom. Keep trying. If it makes you feel any better, I just bought this plant. Hadn't seen it before, but I've seen a close cousin a lot.
Back again Beth: Liza say's Cactus.
John
Sorry again. I'm going to post the answer today. Thanks so much for playing my quiz.
